How do I take my glacier reel apart

Good question! At first it takes a little practice, but once you get it down it is very easy. The spool is held on with an O-ring so there is no mechanical spool release.
In order to release the spool, you hold the reel frame in your finger tips from the back. You then press out with both thumbs simultaneously to pop the spool out. Here is a video from Lamson and they show how it works. The key is to push with both thumbs equally. If you try to push with just one thumb it won’t work. Hope that helps!
