Coho numbers are slowly starting to build as more fish push in from offshore. Small schools of silvers are being seen at Sheep Creek, DIPAC, off of Fish Creek and Lena Point. It still has not cranked up to the level we all want to see, but things are going in the right direction. The record breaking warmth and very low creek levels certainly has not encouraged coho to return early. With rain in this weekend's forecast we are optimistic that more fish will push in as their home creeks rise in level. In addition to the beach fishing spots, a few reports of coho in freshwater creeks are also coming in.
The flies of choice remain Dolly Llamas and Clouser Minnows. Black & White, Pink & White, Chartreuse & White and Tutti Fruiti are all productive.
Keep your fingers crossed for a signficant dump of rain this weekend! And then don't wait for the report, be the report!
See you on the water.
