We know, this fly doesn’t look like much, but don’t be deceived. There are times when this 1 1/2″ long flesh fly is the only thing the trout want. Micro Flesh is a favorite on the Kenai and throughout Bristol Bay.

Description
To go big or small with Micro Flesh? It’s a known fact that trout all over Alaska love to eat flesh. When we think of this, we picture large chunks of decaying salmon floating down the river with ravenous trout chasing it down. Truth of the matter is, trout are more likely to eat a small piece of flesh than an absurdly large piece.
So if you’re swinging for the fences and striking out with that large gawdy articulated flesh fly, try toning it down and offer a smaller snack. Micro flesh is also a great offering when fished below a bead.
