This is the “Heavy Duty” version of the Guru S reel by Lamson. The full cage design adds another layer of durability to the reel and also prevents thin running line from catching on a big cast. The Guru S HD is our go to Spey & Switch reel for anglers looking for a solid machined aluminum reel right around $400.

Description
From Us:
The Guru HD is a heavy duty version of the classic Guru S. Equipped with a full cage and a Type II finish, this reel is perfect for an angler looking for more line capacity, less line slip, and the sturdy drag that Lamson is known for. A huge benefit to buying within the Lamson family: whether you are purchasing the highest end reel or the lowest end reel, the drag design and components are identical throughout.
The Guru S HD is available in two sizes:
-7+ fits 6, 7 or 8 weight single hand rods. It is a good fit on a 5 or 6 weight switch rod.
-9+ fits 9 & 10 weight single hand rods. It is also ideal on a 7 or 8 weight switch rod.

From Lamson:
Reach nirvana. The HD in this reel stands for “Heavy Duty.” The Guru S HD has both a complete cage design and type II in blaze finish. Guru S HD is a phenomenal, affordable Saltwater and/or Spey reel. Steadfast and stylish, Guru has long set a standard as a rugged, fully USA-machined, and ultra-reliable reel at a mind-blowing price. We’ve updated Guru’s spool geometry for enhanced retrieve rates, opened the porting to reduce weight and improve line drying, integrated the counterbalance, and introduced a curved cross section arbor for structural stability. Guru continues to prove that the quest for enlightenment can be anything but boring.
Available in Blaze.
