Description

From Us:
Made for big water and big fish, the Echo King tapes out at 13 feet. It is the perfect length for maximizing leverage without getting you snagged up in overhanging brush. This rod was designed to cast huge king flies in a spectrum of different conditions. Whether you find yourself in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest chasing down chrome kings, or heading to South America in search of their southern hemisphere brothers, this rod is perfect for your adventures.

The Echo King is a clean casting rod and is ideal to learn Spey casting with or for the experienced angler to add to their Spey arsenal. It is quite light for large Spey rod so casting fatigue is minimized.

9 Weight or 10 Weight?
We typically fish the 9 weight and it is ideal for kings up to 30lbs in moderate current. If you think you will be tangling with the 35lb and up crowd, then go with the 10. It is a bit more work to throw a 720 Skagit all day, but if big fish are on the agenda then the 10 is the weapon!

For Skagit line matches we like:

  • 660 Skagit on the 9 weight
  • 720 Skagit on the 10 weight

From Echo:
Tidal zones, large brawling rivers, or smaller streams, these Echo King rods will seal the deal. Striper anglers are just as excited as the “Nook” anglers because of the rods power for overhead casting from rocky shorelines.
