AFFG's video of the month "Trout of Steel" is a story of the Kvichak River and Lake Illiamna's Alaska's epicenter for some of the best rainbow trout fishing in the world. This short film by Alaska Fly Out Media gives a small look at the fierce trout of the Kvichak River and Lake Iliamna system through the eyes of guides and anglers from Alaska Sportsman's Lodge. The rainbow trout of the Iliamna drainage are among the hardest fighting trout on the planet. Even avid anglers admit that these fish are a special breed that compare to their true ocean going cousins, the mighty steelhead. We hope you enjoy this great reminder of how important special our resources and how fortunate we are to have these wild places right here in Alaska
