Marketing Manager & Sales Associate
Position Description:
- This is a full-time position that runs from March/April (flexible based on availability) through end of September. Employee is expected to work 40 hours per week (8 hour shifts - 5 days/week).
- Employee will be responsible for curating and distributing content that drive our marketing goals including regular blog posts, weekly fishing reports, email newsletters, and social media posts.
- Employee will work with other team members to provide, on-going and as needed, sales and customer service to customers in the shop and on the phone, pack and ship online orders, stock merchandise and complete other miscellaneous tasks.
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge (or willingness to learn) about Alaska fly fishing including popular rivers, fish species, and major fishing regions.
- Basic understanding of fly tying, fly casting, rigging of gear, etc.
- Passion for fly fishing and excited to share information about methods, techniques, and tips with others.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills in person, on the phone and by email.
- High level of patience and approachability and the ability to connect with a wide range of fly anglers.
- Experience managing various social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc), is a must.
- Working knowledge of WordPress, Constant Contact, and Adobe Photoshop, is a plus.

That is a opportunity for many fishermen/women and also for me. Unfortunately I live en Denmark/Europe? Even Alaska is far away from my native country, I could see myself and wife moving to this beautiful state. I had the pleasure in 2012 visiting Kodiak Island for a unforgettable experience in the chase for coho’s in Uganik river. If the world opens up my wife and I are coming to Alaska in August this year. This time also for coho’s around Talkeetna area.
