Fish Skull Zonkers are a beautifully tied update of the classic baitfish pattern. The Ice Queen version has a nice flashy belly and a white wing/tail that make it stand out in murky water. What really makes this fly pop though is the red throat. Whether the fish thinks the red is a flash of the gills or bleeding bait, who knows? What we do know is that trout devour this color combination, especially when fished in stillwater, slow moving streams or in the estuaries. The keel weighted Fish Skull Head gives this fly a lot of motion when stripped.

The Fish Skull Electric Leech is a great streamer pattern for trout, steelhead and char. It can be fished in multiple ways to accommodate different fisheries. Try swinging it in the spring, dead drifting it for steelhead or fish it in still water for cutts, rainbows and dolly varden. This pattern is really good for chasing the big char found along the Northern Coast. The stinger loop on this pattern is long enough to allow the hook to be changed out if it gets damaged.
